Nancy Taute was raised in Houston and graduated from Texas A&M University. She traded in the big city life for ‘easy’ Austin in 1984 and hasn’t looked back. Nancy worked for 18 years as a program analyst in the computer industry before embarking on her real estate career in 2002 alongside her husband, Bill, a successful homebuilder. Together, they developed and sold an urban single-family community of 18 homes. That experience led Nancy to join Dochen REALTORS in 2005.
Her keen eye for detail and broad, do-it-yourself, entrepreneurial know-how translates into big advantages for her clients across the greater Austin area, where she is an active member in her community, serving as an advocate for Alzheimer’s groups. Her volunteerism spans from Congregation at Beth Israel, to local elementary schools, to respite care teams. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, exploring Austin’s South Congress area, good food, local music and, of course, following Aggie football.

“Nancy Taute is a true gem and a wonderful real estate resource that I would recommend to my friends, family and anyone who wants a true professional who is a pleasure to work with on any real estate adventure.” Chris
“Thank you Nancy for your hard work, professionalism, expertise, competence, understanding, good humor and great help. My daughter and I have been happy to work with you.” Paula
“We found Nancy Taute to be very knowledgeable, helpful and patient during our lengthy search. We were coming from out of town on weekends, and she was always prepared and happy to take us back to see houses more than once. After we moved in, she went above and beyond and helped us navigate the tax assessor’s office when we had a problem there. She even took her time and met us there. Still today, she answers any questions we have about living in Austin . We now count Nancy as a friend and would recommend her highly.” Gaddi and Cheryl
“My husband and I were first time home buyers and just closed on the purchase of our new home. We could not have been more pleased with the guidance that Nancy provided. Buying a home can be an overwhelming and emotional process. Nancy kept us organized and motivated. We looked both at new houses and resales available within our budget and met our specifications. She always kept us fully informed on what was available and discouraged us from making offers on homes that might not resale well or had undisclosed upfront repair costs. She had our best interests at heart and we knew we could trust her judgment. We started to work as realtor and customer, but now we have a good friend in Austin.” Pavel S.
“I have had such a positive experience dealing with Nancy Taute over the last three years (anniversary is October). It has especially been brought to mind due to the fact that I have a property for sale in San Antonio obviously with another realtor. Today an offer was brought to the table and I needed to pull old closing papers to know the purchase price. I let my San Antonio realtor know I would do that and consult with my co-owner and would call him back in a few hours. As I did, I was met with a “straight to voicemail” situation perhaps because it was after 7pm. It made me so appreciate that Nancy Taute is literally ALWAYS available. Do I expect that? No. But does she deliver that? YES! Nancy always does her research and works darn hard to accommodate her clients’ schedule. She is no-nonsense, a wealth of information and experience and a pleasure doing business with. She is a great asset!” Michelle D.
“Nancy Taute is a true asset. She helped us locate and purchase a house while we were living out of the country and relocating back to Austin. She helped us find the right property that met all of our needs. We didn’t see the property until we closed, but it was perfect. She handled bringing other service people for suggested inspections. In locating the house, she visited multiple properties without us and sent us detailed pictures and descriptions. She was available to meet with a friend of ours for a second opinion and walked us through every step of the process including pricing negotiations and closing. This would have been a tough assignment for any real estate professional, but Nancy handled it all with the highest level of professional service. We did not hesitate to call her when we decided to buy another house two years later.” Andy G.
“Nancy Taute is a highly professional realtor. She was always very patient as we looked for the perfect townhouse in a certain area in Austin. Nancy is completely trustworthy. We never felt pressured, as she pointed out both positives and negatives of different homes we viewed. She was always available to show us any home that might be of interest. We valued her judgment throughout the process. Nancy knows alot about the community and provided us with a wealth of helpful resources. She assembled a terrific binder for us at the closing, full of relevant closing documents, as well as other helpful information. Even after the closing, Nancy has continued to check in on us to help us get settled in our new home. She even brought a fantastic gift a few days after closing. We won’t tell you what it is, as we wouldn’t want to spoil the surprise for you! For sure, you will be very happy with Nancy Taute as your realtor!” Sondra B.
