About Austin

When you think “Texas”, you may think cowboys, cactus and the Wild, Wild West. But, until you’ve experienced Austin, you really haven’t experienced the best of Texas. Austin is… eclectic.
Home to several universities, the State Capitol, large (and small) corporations, top-notch arts and entertainment (including world renowned music festivals South By Southwest and ACLfest), and much more, Austin truly offers something for everyone. Located in the beautiful Texas hills, you are likely to find yourself hiking, biking or enjoying Lady Bird Lake and spectacular sunsets over Mt. Bonnell. While there’s plenty of information about our fair city available on the Internet and in other sections of our website, we decided to share our personal favorites with you. Once you’ve experienced Austin, we’d love to hear your feedback and recommendations!

Javier is originally from El Paso but has lived in Austin for 15 years. He tells people that he did not have to die to go to Heaven. He was happy in El Paso but felt that he was in the middle of nowhere. He thinks that Austin is the heart of Texas; with easy access to Dallas, Houston and San Antonio. He suggests that you take advantage of:
- Austin’s Music
- Austin’s Sports
- Austin’s Politics (We’ll let you Google your own link here!)
- And, just plain Keeping it Weird
Perhaps Javier’s words about living in Austin say it best, “I DID NOT HAVE TO DIE TO GO TO HEAVEN.”
